CUHK Pre-Incubation Centre (Pi Centre)
The Pi Centre of CUHK is now open to all students who are interested in innovation and embarking new ventures for application!
Pi Centre is developed under the ACE Hub, a university-wide education and support initiative, fostering cross-disciplinary exchange and collaboration. It is a co-working space located at the Lady Ho Tung Hall, CUHK (next to the Pentecostal Mission Hall Complex).
It aims at providing assistance to CUHK students to assess their creative ideas, to develop them into forms of social or business venture, which are sustainable and, at the same time, socially responsible and impactful, so as to be qualified to join external incubation programme(s).
It provides workspace, facilities, development and mentorship support for qualified teams up to one year, with a goal to unleash the creative potential from across the campus.
Eligibility
All CUHK students in ANY discipline with an innovative idea and a passion to create significant human, social, or market value are welcome to apply.
Submission of Application
- Applications are accepted between Jan 20, 2014 (Monday) and Feb 28, 2014 (Friday). Details please refer to the Application Guideline.
- Students, individual or in a team, are required to fill out an Application Form, and submit the completed form in both pdf and doc formats together with supporting information, to the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS) via email: evalaw@cuhk.edu.hk.
- A briefing session will be held in Mid-February 2014, to familiarize potential applicants with the requirements of the Application Form, as well as the important points to note while preparing the Execution Plan. - We welcome inquiries and may assist in filling the Application Form with meeting arrangement.
Screening Process
- Applications will be assessed and selected by an Assessment Panel comprising representatives from CUHK faculties, community incubators, government funding body, and established entrepreneur.
- Results will be announced on websites of the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS) and ACE Hub in March 2014. Successful applicants/ teams will thus be notified individually.
- The first group of successful applicants will move into Pi Centre in April 2014.
