Mission 宗旨

To instil an entrepreneurial mindset and motivate the passion, we work across multiple disciplines to provide education, conduct research and organize activities for members of CUHK and the society to create cultural, social and economic value.

我們致力透過在研究、教育、實踐的跨學科活動去促進中文大學師生及社會的創業思維及創業熱誠,一起去創造文化、社會及經濟的價值。

Vision

Our vision is to advance understanding of entrepreneurship and inspire entrepreneurship in Hong Kong, China, and other parts of the world. Entrepreneurship predisposes a person to action. Entrepreneurs ceaselessly search for potential value creation and build organizational platforms to deliver the value. Because entrepreneurship - in both new and existing enterprises - contributes to economic growth and social development, we believe that it should be understood and promoted as a vital part of education in the business school and other faculties.

Objective

The Center pursues research, education and practice in entrepreneurship. We bring together scholars from different departments within the University, attract talent from the business community, involve CUHK in promoting entrepreneurship in Hong Kong, and provide a nexus for fundraising.

Brief History

The Chinese University of Hong Kong Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE) was inaugurated on May 24, 2005 and is a research center under the Asia Pacific Institute of Business. The CfE is an interdisciplinary association of scholars and practitioners united by research, teaching and community service for entrepreneurship. Professors Kevin Au, Bee-leng Chua, Hugh Thomas, Kwok Siu Tong,  and Wong Kam Fai were instrumental in launching CfE. Since then, CfE has expanded in size, diversity, and activities.  Professors Chua and Thomas served as the first and second directors of the Center. For the next few years, CfE will continue to develop and provide innovative training, research, and consulting for different kinds of NGOs, governmental entities, and business corporations.
