Practice
The Center helps students plan new companies that create value by satisfying market needs. We encourage students, faculty, alumni and members of the community to form multi-disciplinary teams.
We organize the Vice Chancellor's Cup of Student Entrepreneurship in which competing teams of CUHK students present their business plans to venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and managers of government start-up capital funds. We help with the Vice Chancellor's Cup of Student Innovation, a concept-to-product technology competition organized by CUHK. Winners of these competitions represent CUHK in national and international competitions.
We encourage students to enter their plans in open international competitions and sponsor part of their travel costs. At these competitions, students interact with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and peer students, increasing their understanding of the global entrepreneurial environment.
In recent years, several former competitors have started their own companies on graduation. Students may apply through the Center for incubation facilities at the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CINTEC) in the Faculty of Engineering.
The Center collaborates with Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) to run the BAH Social Venture Challenge, in which MBA students plan ventures to meet needs of non-profit organizations. By applying entrepreneurial value creation to social problems, the Center aims to instill social awareness and responsibility for our community in our students.
