Mr. CHAN Vincent
Vincent Chan is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Asia for Samena Capital Hong Kong Limited. Samena Capital is a principal investment group, which invests across multiple asset classes including private equity and corporate credit within the Subcontinent, Asia, Middle East and North Africa (the SAMENA region). It has over US$1 billion of assets under management, committed by a unique shareholder and investor network consisting of prominent business families and entrepreneurs across the SAMENA region.
Vincent was the Founding CEO for 8 years of Spring Capital, an independent private equity firm that invests exclusively in China. He has 28 years of Asia experience in private equity and has made over 45 investments in growth companies in China. Vincent was previously a Managing Director and an Investment Committee Member of JAFCO Asia, serving as the Co-head of the Asian private equity funds for 7 years.
Prior to JAFCO Asia, Vincent was a private equity investor with Suez Asia and HSBC Private Equity (Asia) based in Hong Kong. Vincent commenced his professional career in Standard Chartered’s corporate finance division there.
Vincent received a B.A. from the University of Hong Kong, an MBA from the Manchester Business School and obtained a CFA charter.
He is currently the Co-President of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (Chairman 2005/06), a Board Member of the Hong Kong Foundation for the University of Manchester, a Member of the University of Hong Kong Investments Sub-Committee managing the endowment funds, a Senior Advisor of the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education, a Member of the Listing Review Committee of the HKEX, and a Panel Member of the SFC Appeal Tribunal and Resolvability Review Tribunal respectively. He is the Independent Non-Executive Director of CN Logistics International Holdings Limited (code 2130, HKEX) and Evergrande Property Services Group Limited (code 6666).
Vincent was a Member of the Main Board and GEM Listing Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (2007-12) and a Member of the Public Shareholders Group of the SFC (2005-11).
