CUHK MGNT 6020E Nurturing Social Minds - Closing Reception Dinner

MGNT 6020E - Selected Topics in Management: Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investment (2016 Fall) – Nurturing Social Minds, the first social entrepreneurship practicum course, was brought to a successful conclusion with the generous support of the Yeh Family Philanthropy Limited and Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund). Congratulations to the winning team and its Social Venture Partner – Easycare for winning HKD250,000 to execute the business proposal.

This MBA course is a practicum helping the students to apply the entrepreneurial principles with the aim to bring social, environmental as well as economic benefits to the society. The student teams are equipped with knowledge and tools in social entrepreneurship and management consulting, so that they can be effective social business consultants for the social venture partners (“SVP”). The team presented their recommendations to help their SVPs to solve the real life business challenges at the of the course. The SVP of the student team with the best plan, EasyCare, won HKD250,000 to implement the ideas proposed by the students.

The award presentation took place in the Closing Reception Dinner on 23 Nov 2016. The guests of honour include the representatives from the Grant Committee Member of the Yeh Family Philanthropy and Prof. Chan Ka Lok, Dean of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. The students and SVP representatives were joined by other guests to celebrate this special occasion.

iEnterprise
iEnterprise employs people with disabilities and chronic diseases. They aimed at creating an inclusive work environment with their professionals. iEnterprise contracted with Hong Kong Broadband and Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power to pilot "Hong Kong Broadband 1083" telephone inquiry service early this year, providing jobs to fifteen underprivileged people.
